Sample Needs Analysis

 

Gather data regarding any performance issues and deficiencies.  Look at workers performing the tasks.  Ask them what they do, why they do it and how they do it.  Find out what prevents them from doing their best.   Below is a three-step process that can be used to analyze the situation.

 

 

 

 

Develop a list of possible causes and eliminate them one-by-one with the help of expert workers.  Basically looking at the four areas, Motivation, Skill, Ability and Environment.  Note that of these only skill can be dealt with through training and development.
